Famous for summer downhill mountain biking, this year-round destination is just at the head of our beautiful valley.  Take a hike or ride the summer chair lift to the summit for a breathtaking view of the valley not to be forgotten.  Winter brings skiing, snow boarding, tubing and cross-country skiing.

Renowned naturalist and author John Burroughs was born on the family farm in Roxbury.  Visit his boyhood home and take the opportunity to learn more about this famous American.

Margaretville, New York 15 minutes The delightful village of Margaretville sits at the edge of Catskill Park and the Catskill forest Preserve. Visitors have access to 300,000 acres of forest lands, 300 miles of hiking and biking trails and dozens of pristine streams, rivers and reservoirs.

Delaware & Ulster Rail Ride 15 minutes

Hop aboard the historic rail cars for a scenic ride along the East Branch of the Delaware River passing through quaint villages and scenic countryside.  Treat the kids to one of the special rides that feature a train robbery complete with masked bandits!

Olana 1 hour Considered one of the most important artistic residences in the United States. The home of Frederic Edwin Church overlooks the spectacular Hudson River Valley.
Howe Caverns 1 hour Howe Caverns is filled with winding passages and wonder every step of the way and offers a rare glimpse into a prehistoric world formed millions of years ago by an underground river. (One of my personal favorites!)
Iroquois Indian Museum 1 hour (Next to Howe Caverns) In a modern building designed to evoke the great longhouse of the Iroquois, visitors are introduced to another world.
Cooperstown, New York 1.5 hour Home to many attractions, museums, and points of interest as well as the Baseball Hall of Fame. Worth the drive!

Kaaterskill Falls 1 hour Kaaterskill Falls is the highest two-tiered waterfall in New York state. It is a very popular spot - especially during the warmer Summer months.
